EMPLOYMENT

The Hampshire Franklin & Hampden Agricultural Society is seeking seasonal, part-time and temporary workers for the 2019 event season, which runs from mid-April thru mid October.

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking skilled, reliable general laborers for our 2019 event season. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Grounds Staff in a variety of event set up and clean up duties while following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

General Labor Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow project instructions from Ground Manager or supervisor
Assist with event set up and clean up including horse stalls, bathroom facilities, ground maintenance and parking lot management
Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
Typical work week: M-F 7am-3:30pm full-time or 7am-12pm part-time
Occasional weekends and overtime required

General Labor Requirements and Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
Own your own work tools a plus
Minimum of 18 years of age
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels
Positive attitude and work ethic
Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
Good interpersonal skills, punctual and good communication with all levels of management
Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations

VOLUNTEER

The Hampshire Franklin & Hampden Agricultural Society is seeking volunteers to serve in a variety of Guest Services roles during the 2019 Three County Fair, August 30 - September 2.

VOLUNTEER SUMMARY
We are seeking reliable and personable volunteers for the 2019 Three County Fair over Labor Day Weekend. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting Fair Staff and Department Heads in a variety of logistical and operational activities, as well as performing Guest Service & Relations to the Fairgoers while following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow instructions from Fair Staff and Department Heads
Assist with a variety of logistical and operational tasks associated with the Fair and daily activities
Follow all health and safety regulations
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Volunteer Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to volunteer at least one day of the Fair (Aug. 30-Sept 2)
Must be at least 16 years of age
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
Positive attitude and work ethic
Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Event experience a plus

INTERNSHIP - FARM MUSEUM

The Hampshire Franklin & Hampden Agricultural Society is seeking individuals to process and inventory hundreds of artifacts in the Fair's Farm Museum collection during Winter & Spring of 2019. Items need to be physically tagged and digitally recorded as to what they are and rate their condition as part of the Fair's Farm Museum renovation plans.

Willing to consider individuals who need to earn internship hours for credits or minimum wage candidates based on level of experience and availability.

Farm Museum Internship Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to travel to & from the Three County Fairgrounds
Ability to work in a cool and dark environment
Computer & data entry skills
Photography experience a plus
Prior knowledge/exposure to farm equipment/tools a plus
