The Hampshire, Franklin & Hampden Agricultural Society (Three County Fair) is seeking full-time or part-time seasonal Maintenance and Grounds Laborer for the 2023 event season (thru mid-November).

Maintenance & Grounds Laborer Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follow project instructions from Grounds Manager or supervisor
• Assist with event set up and clean up including horse stalls, bathroom facilities, ground maintenance and parking lot management
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
• Typical work week: M-F 7am-3:30pm full-time or 7am-12pm part-time
• Occasional weekends, holidays and overtime required
Maintenance & Grounds Laborer Requirements and Qualifications:
• Construction and / or mechanic experience preferred
• Forklift, skid steer, truck/tractor driving experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be a U.S. resident and/or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must pass employee drug screening and background check upon employment offer
• Supplying your own basic tools required (tool belt, hammer, drill)
• Forklift/hoisting license a plus
• Prior facilities management expereince a plus
• High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Good interpersonal skills, punctual and good communication with all levels of management
• Should have your own health insurance

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience level

WE'RE HIRING!

EVENT & OPERATION REPRESENTATIVE (FULL-TIME)

The Three County Fair (Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden Agricultural Society is seeking full-time Event & Operations Representative

Status: Full-time, 30 hours per week

Summary: Seeking organized office professional with event planning and customer service experience

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; or a minimum of five years in event, marketing or customer service experience
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Professional relationship and organizational skills with customers and vendors
  • Works well independently as well as within a small team environment
  • Able to take on additional projects on short notice
  • Non-traditional office hours and weekends required during certain periods of the year

Responsibilities:

Reports to the General Manager and works as first point of contact for incoming phone calls and walk in customers.

Assists the General Manager prepare for and manage on-site event activities, including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of facility rental quotes
  • Preparation of facility rental contracts
  • Periodically serve as acting “Manager on Duty” at festivals and events
  • Preparation of vendor applications and agreements
  • Assist with vendor set up plans, reporting, fulfillment and enforcement
  • Pre & Post event communications with vendors and Grounds & Maintenance staff

Assists the General Manager with logistics and planning with Fair operated events, including the annual agricultural Fair leading up and over Labor Day weekend with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Recruitment of temporary workers, volunteers and vendors
  • Scheduling and training of temporary workers and volunteers

Responsible for overseeing the Fair’s membership, including but not limited to:

  • Mailings and communications to the Fair’s membership
  • Managing member database
  • Assist in content creation for the quarterly member E-newsletter

Responsible for overseeing the Fair’s winter storage business, including but not limited to:

  • Data management of winter storage reservations and deposits
  • Creation of winter storage contracts
  • Receiving winter storage drop offs in October and November and processing final customer payments

Additional duties as required.


Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

VOLUNTEER

The Hampshire Franklin & Hampden Agricultural Society is seeking volunteers to serve in a variety of Guest Services roles during the 2023 Three County Fair, September 1-4.

VOLUNTEER SUMMARY
We are seeking reliable and personable volunteers for the 2023 Three County Fair over Labor Day Weekend. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting Fair Staff and Department Heads in a variety of logistical and operational activities, as well as performing Guest Service & Relations to the Fairgoers while following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow instructions from Fair Staff and Department Heads
Assist with a variety of logistical and operational tasks associated with the Fair and daily activities
Follow all health and safety regulations
Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Volunteer Requirements and Qualifications:
Ability to volunteer at least one day of the Fair (Sept 1-4)
Must be at least 16 years of age
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
Positive attitude and work ethic
Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Event experience a plus

*Interns seeking 120 hours for credit are welcome to apply
